The archaeological Park includes the area of the Roman colony of Urbs Salvia developed during the Augustan age according to a unitary urban plan.
Of the original architectural works, the main monumental buildings are still there: the Roman cistern, the theatre cavea, the scenic building and the parascaenia, decorated with Pompeian style paintings. The terraced squares, the anticodecumanus, the temple of Salus Augusta, the monumental walls and the ampitheatre, the latter built by Flavio Silva Nonio Basso, general under Titus and then Consul of Rome, whose origins were from Urbs Salvia.
